My Story
Unlock Your Movement
I’ve spent more than 35 years inside the work — teaching, refining the method, co-founding studios, and working with thousands of bodies in real time.
I learned Pilates deeply. I respect its lineage, and I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it can be when precision and structure are applied with intelligence.
But over time, I began noticing something.
When structure stops serving the body
After tens of thousands of sessions, a pattern emerged.
Bodies were being corrected instead of listened to. The work often became about managing movement rather than releasing through it.
And I began noticing something else.
Bodies weren’t just holding tension. They were holding history.
The shoulder that wouldn’t release.
The hip that braced against everything.
The chest that never fully opened.
Again and again, I saw how stuck patterns lived in the same places the body struggled to move — and how no amount of technical correction could fully reach them.
I wasn’t interested in abandoning Pilates.
I was interested in listening more closely.
A deeper map of the body
That curiosity led me beyond traditional biomechanics and into deeper layers of how the body organizes itself.
I began studying the relationship between fascial tension, nervous system patterning, neuroplasticity, and the energetic body. I also explored how elemental balance — something long recognized in Eastern systems — shows up physically in posture, breathing, and movement.
This wasn’t about replacing science.
It was about expanding the map.
A shift in environment. A shift in perception.
Several years ago I stepped away from the traditional studio model and relocated to the Eastern Mojave Desert.
Living and working in a quieter, more elemental environment sharpened how I observe movement.
Nature doesn’t over-control.
It self-organizes.
It adapts under load.
Watching that intelligence in the landscape deepened my understanding of how the body works too.
The same principles that govern the natural world also live inside us.
When we move in alignment with that intelligence, the body begins to change in ways repetition alone rarely reaches.
That perspective reshaped how I teach — not philosophically, but practically.
What informs the work today
My approach integrates:
• Classical Pilates principles
• Fascial science and biotensegrity
• Nervous system regulation
• The energetic body and the Five Elements
• Perception-based cueing and embodied awareness
• Nature’s intelligence — inside and out
Not as concepts to memorize, but as skills instructors and clients can learn to feel, sense, and apply.
The goal is movement that doesn’t just function better — but supports deeper change in the body.
Experience, grounded in practice
35+ years teaching
50,000+ client sessions
Studio co-founder, educator, and mentor
Everything I teach has been tested on the studio floor — not just studied, theorized, or branded.
This is Pilates evolved through lived experience — and through decades of listening to what the body is really trying to say.
